Section 17: Isaraelites. Insatiable whores

Again we find Deedat using all his tricks. That is being deliberately obtuse, taking passages out of context, and cherry-picking the English translations (usually old English) that suit the gory image he wants to portray.

Reading these passages in context shows that God is speaking of the adultery that the Jews are making in the spiritual sense by following and worshipping idols. This a very common theme in the Old Testament, especially from the prophets. God is certainly using very graphic language to describe what the Jews are doing but He was prepared to do this to get his message over and reveal His repulsion at the Jews for their idol worship. This was a very important issue and in the end God sent the Israelites into exile and slavery because of it.

Obviously Deedat has tried to shock us by pointing to some graphic terms that speak out against idolatry which in a sense I find surprising coming from a man who would have been proud tell us how opposed to idolatry Islam is.
